I met with the owner of a mid-sized trucking company several years ago. Behind his desk there was a bumper sticker held onto a filing cabinet with a magnet. It was prominently displayed at the very top as though it was one step away from being framed. The bumper sticker read – “Information Super Highway Road kill”.
I think back to that moment, as I get ready for the launch of my first podcast. It seems to me he was quite aware that his business needed to keep up with technology to compete. He knew where he needed to go but there was a problem. There are way too many opinions and really too many good ideas. As we communicate faster do we communicate better? Are we absorbing more content without considering the quality of that information? Where do you go right now to find technology that you can implement for an immediate impact on your business performance?
I personally read multiple technology trade rags every day. I listen to several on line broadcasts and my email box is full of various technology news. Because I spend most of my day talking to various technology experts I get to see what works and doesn’t work before most people. In a lot of cases I get to see it before the top CIO’s in fortune 1000 companies.
STOP – READ THIS – The purpose of this website/podcast is to help you reduce the time you spend searching for good tech info. Now I don’t claim to know everything but I do generally know what’s hot and what’s not in business technology. Every day I ask the region’s technology leaders to share with me the latest and greatest. They tell me about their success and their failures. I’m committed to bringing on guests that have studied the hottest new products and services that are ready to implement in your business. We’ll also tell you what to stay away from and why. And we’re going to deliver it over an audio feed or podcast. You can listen online or download it to your mobile device. If you use Yahoo or Google you can sign up to be notified automatically when we upload new content. (We’ll have a show on that). We also welcome your comments on the shows on our Blog page. Tell us what you want to learn about and we’ll get an expert online.
This podcast is called the Biz-Tech Forum because we’re all about business technology.
