FAQ's4. Are you going to sell my personal information?
5. Will this give me more junk mail?
6. My last name's not Gormley. Can I still get an email address?
Q. - Why is it free?A. - We'll give you free email in exchange we hope to drive traffic to this website. In addition we want to have a database of Gormleys that we can send emails to about our favorite charity. As I've explained on the Homepage of this website, my wife has Multiple Sclerosis. It's a terrible disease that effects Two and a half million people. Research for MS also helps those with, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Autism, Charcot-Marie-Tooth, Delayed/Hypomyelination, Leukodystrophy, those crippled by nerve damage, and many other central nervous system diseases.
Scientist have made huge strides in this area making your charitable dollars very effective if you choose to donate to this cause. If you choose not to donate or support us in our next MS event you will not be harrassed or plauged by additional junk emails. The gmail service is free, we just hope you'll spread the word on MS.
A. - You will get an email address of your choosing as long as someone else hasn't taken it. In which case you'll need to be more creative. For example my address is joe@gormleys.com - If someone already took that I may choose josephj@gormleys.com or josephjohn@gormleys.com.
This email will be the same forever and will forward to whatever email you get for free from an Internet Service Provider. The next time you change from AOL to Compuserve or @Home your email can stay the same and your friends and family on the web will always know how to find you.
A. - You'll give this email to people and continue to get email at whatever Internet Service Provider you use. The instructions we'll send you explains how the email forwards to your current email address.
For example =Q. - Are you going to sell my personal information?1. Your current email address is JoeG12538@aol.com.
2. You will start to give out joe@gormleys.com.
3. When people send email to joe@gormleys.com it really goes to JoeG12538@aol.com
4. In 6 months you decide to change to Compuserve and they give you an email address of JoeG425568@computserve.net
5. Instead of telling everyone you know that you can't get email at aol anymore you contact us and we start forwarding your mail to your new address. But everyone sends it to joe@gormleys.com. To others the change is transparent.
A. - Many sites you currently use do sell your information without you knowing it. (Go to whatis.com and look up the definition for "cookies".) We do not plan on doing this. We're not looking to impress venture capitalists at this site. This site is a free service with one goal. We want to bring attention (and donations) to organizations working to cure Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurological disorders .
Q. - Will this give me more junk mail?
A. - We do not plan to sell the list of email address' to any other organization. We will however send you email periodically to let you know about things going on at the site.
If you get too much email that is "junk" We reccomend an email program that has the capacity to block certain addresses. Please do not block email from Gormleys.com. If we can't send you info we can't afford to keep this as a free service.
Q. - My last name's not Gormley. Can I still get an email address?
A. - You sure can. But I'm curious to know why.
A. - Just shoot me an email with 3 choices and I'll let you know what's available. We'll send you your new email address and instructions on forwarding it to whatever email you currently use.
